Our Community, One Meal at a Time
Plate it Forward Southington is a heartfelt food-sharing initiative launched by the Friday Morning Breakfast Club (FMBC), a local business networking group founded by Realtor Gary Brummett in early 2022. FMBC members gather bi-monthly at different restaurants to share breakfast, exchange ideas, and support local businesses. A portion of their funds covers breakfast costs, while any extra contributions go directly to local nonprofits, reinforcing their commitment to giving back.
How It Works
Plate it Forward Southington follows a pay-it-forward model:
Buy a Meal, Give a Meal – When dining at a participating restaurant, you can purchase an extra meal for someone in need.
Meal Receipts on Display – The pre-paid meal receipt is posted on the Plate it Forward Southington board inside the restaurant.
A Helping Hand for Those in Need – Anyone facing food insecurity can pick a receipt from the board and enjoy a meal, either dining in or taking it to go (limited to one per person per day).
